Field Adjustment Software for Tektronix Oscilloscopes
	   TDS794D/TDS784D/TDS754D/TDS724D/TDS714L/TDS580D/TDS540D/TDS520D

	Installing the Program
	----------------------
To ensure that this software will correctly adjust the above
oscilloscopes, it must be installed using the command "install".

CHANGE TO THE DRIVE containing the TDS Field Adjust floppy, and
	run "install". For example, type:
		a:
		install

You will be prompted for the letter designation of the hard drive
on which the TDS Adjustment software will be placed. You will
also be prompted for information about your GPIB card type, DMA
number, interrupt number, and switch setting. You must input
this information to assure that your TDS Adjustment software is
correctly installed. For a GPIB card at its default settings,
simply enter the number suggested in the prompt as "typical".
The switch setting is the decimal translation of the binary
number denoted by switches A9-A3 on a PCII card (A3 is LSB), or
A13-A14 on a PCIIA card (A14 is LSB). The switch pushed down
on the OFF side represents a 1. So for example, on a PCII card
	at its default, A9-A3 reads 101 0111 = 57hex = 87 decimal.

	Program Configuration
	---------------------
This adjustment software is used to adjust the above Tektronix
oscilloscopes and is made up of two program files and associated
	system and help files.

The ADJ700D.BAT file sets up environment variables suitable
for this procedure and starts the .EXE adjustment program.
The .EXE file does the actual adjustment of the oscilloscope,
but is not meant to be run by itself.

	How To Run the Program
	----------------------
To run this adjustment software, at the DOS prompt type:
		CD \TDS700D.ADJ
		ADJ700D

If the program does not run, but returns you to the DOS prompt,
you need to increase your PC's available conventional memory.

If you get the message: "Out of environment space", you must
edit your config.sys file, so it contains a line similar to:
		SHELL=C:\DOS\command.com /e:1024 /p

Refer to COMMAND and SHELL in your DOS reference manual for more
	information.
